Eight

8 is the number of hours Miles slept last night.

8 is the number of weeks it took for him to do it.

Anomaly? Not sure... but we're hopeful!

He's sucking his tongue :P

Live on Camera

Since we got that first cute smile, I've been trying to capture the real thing on video. I caught him in a super smiley mood today and was able to grab some footage. Enjoy!

Disregard my weird talking in the background...you find one thing that works and do it over and over until they've figured out it's not funny anymore. ha!

And another of this cutie!

Cast Your Vote

Alright people. Today marks exactly one week before this little guy turns 2 months. While our doctor's appointment isn't until the 27th, I felt it necessary to start the collection of votes now.

Votes? What votes? Well - here's the deal. We're taking guesses on how big our teeny baby has gotten (cue the sad face because my baby is growing so fast). Price is right rules here. Closest without going over. Comment below and we'll see who that lucky winner is!

My Official guess:  11 lbs
Stephen's Official guess:  12 lbs 8 oz

Those overalls make him look so old, but dang are they cute!

Comparison

Since Miles was born, everyone keeps saying he is all Stephen, and I agree! In my opinion, Miles looks just like him. But, it peaked my curiosity. How much does he look like Stephen and how much like me? I tried to find photos of Miles that were close to the ones I found of both of us as babies to give the best comparison. I'll let you be the judge!

Newborn:

 6 Week - 2 Months:

I think it's pretty obvious this kid is all his dad. :)

Smiles from Miles

Up until now, Miles' smiles were all reactions to toots or similar. Although cute, none of them were "real" yet....until now! I am convinced these smiles are reactions to my crazy antics. Holy moly, so adorable!

I didn't get his big smile on film, but we got super close!

Playing Catch Up

Things have been a bit crazy around here - and not because we have a baby. Our kitchen's filtered faucet was installed incorrectly and we had a massive leak in our kitchen. The timing, with Harvey, couldn't have been worse. Our situation doesn't come close to comparing to those in Houston, Port A or areas by the coast, so while it's inconvenient for us, we can deal with a construction zone for awhile. Such bad luck though. Doesn't seem like anything is going our way with this home...

We were "kicked" out of the house while Servepro was cleaning and setting up equipment for the leak. So Miles and I went over to visit the Gates. The girls were pumped!

From there, we decided to drive up and surprise Gramma. It was Miles' first trip to Gramma's house and I think she might have been just as pumped as the girls to see him.

Disregard the wet shirt. He may have puked a bit in the car. (Don't worry - we changed him shortly after this photo)

He's getting more and more engaged and was super interested in Gramma's glasses!

And a few more random photos for your viewing pleasure!

He's LOVING this baby playground he got from Grammie A & Grandpa Fred :)

Crazy hair! This is what happens when Stephen feeds him. ha!

Mama's "juice"

Sleepy boys

Gameday! Go Wildcats!

And to top yall off - a cutie video of Miles trying to imitate Stephen by sticking his tongue out. It's hit or miss, but he's getting close to imitating facial expressions. So fun!

3D vs. Real Life

When I was pregnant, we went to see a specialist each month to check on Miles' growth. At this appointment, they performed an ultrasound to measure his belly, length and overall size to make sure he was on mark. At each visit, he was perfect. No concerns. Normally, you only get an ultrasound at 20 weeks and have to wait until about 36 weeks for another. So, it was pretty cool to be able to see this little guy each month - something Stephen and I looked forward to  :)

At this doctor's office, they offered 3D images of baby in the belly. While some photos looked a little creepy (you know - cut off limbs, hollow eye sockets and an overall lumpiness), it was interesting to see him move around in there. It's like we got a glimpse at his personality before we actually met him! Stephen and I ask the doctor how "accurate" these pictures were and if he'd look similar to this when he came out. I feel like we got our answer pretty quick. Take a look for yourself!

3D in the belly:

Real life:

It's pretty amazing how similar these two videos are. You can see in the real life version that his mannerisms and movements are almost exactly like those seen in the 3D version. Crazy!

And because it's adorable, take a look at the video we got of his first documented smile!
