We set up Christmas early this year. Why not yea? Something to look forward to despite the pandemic. The boys have been so receptive. Miles, especially, is excited for Santa to visit! Miles is at the age where he understands better what's happening and Carson isn't as much in the baby world, so it's been so fun!
We found out the neighborhood was doing a "mini parade" with SANTA - key work "mini". So we made our way down the street to say hi.
To say the least, it left much to be desired, but the kids had fun.
Another treat? Omi came to visit!! It took about 30 minutes for Carson to warm up, but Miles was pumped! Ran up and gave her a big hug. It was so great to have her :)
Miles asleep on the floor during rest time. haha!
Our official, non official holiday photo. I'll take it. So cute!
I think our high (and low...) of the season thus far has been Santa's Ranch. For those who don't know, it's a ranch in New Braunfels that decks out their entire property with TONS of lights and displays. So cool!! We had a bit of a rough start trying to get there. I gave the kids light up spinners because, why not? Said light up spinner (we think) made Carson car sick because by the time we got in line to get in, he puked all over himself, the carseat, everywhere. bleehhhh. And what did I do? Try to catch it in my hands. Why did I do that?! No idea.... Thankfully, I had all the wipes, sanitizer and extra change of clothes to get him (and me) somewhat comfortable again. But yall... the smell.... so gross.
Despite that, we had a total blast!
We are all so excited for Christmas. Miles wakes up everyday and asks "Mama - is Santa here!?" :)
Miles has really grown into his personality and some of the things he says are just hilarious. His creativity is booming, and I think he's really loving that people have a better time understanding him. For the past few months, I've been documenting funny quotes, moments and overall Miles-ism. Enjoy!
Lia came over to help entertain the boys and I overhear their conversation:
Miles: "Yaya! PAST! (fast)"
Lia: "You want to go high?"
Miles: "YEA!"
Lia: "Go high, high in the sky and touch the clouds?"
Miles: "mmhmm!" -- So sweet --
(Miles on the toilet)
Me: "Miles, are you okay?"
Miles: "Yea Mama. I workin!"
Miles: "Ow ow owwww"
Me: " Oh no, did you drop your water bottle on your toe?"
Miles: "Yeaaaa - my Dada toeeee" *pointing to his big toe*
I feel like a lot of our posts this year have started with, "Well, because of Covid...." This is no different.
Stephen and I would have traveled to Dallas to celebrate Thanksgiving with his family this year, but, because of Covid, we decided to take precautions and stay in town. We missed seeing the family, but we were able to celebrate with our pod group. A friends-giving pod-giving if you will!
They were so funny all piled together and giggling
Last Thanksgiving, we did a cook-off and made 3 turkeys. This year was no different. The Kasperzaks hadn't experienced the 3-turkey cook off, so it only made sense.
Smoked
Baked
Fried
3 turkeys, 3 guys. 1 turkey to carve each! Stephen chose the fried turkey and when he went to start carving, the leg bone just came right out. I'd say that's a tender turkey!
The consensus remains. Fried turkey for the win!
It's been a rough year and we're finally seeing the light at the end of a long tunnel - hopefully. We're so thankful that everyone has remained healthy and for amazing friends and family to help keep things semi "normal". Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
