It's funny how memories pop into my head after Miles has done something. Flashes of memories or stories I have of the girls being young come through like a whirlwind. Ones I hadn't thought of in forever. It's fun!
This time? It's a good one. One of my favorites :)
The "Adagator Snate": Take Two
For those of you unfamiliar with the original interaction with said Alligator Snake, take a look here.
We were playing cars in the backyard and Miles found a friend! For about 30 minutes or so, he was rolling his car around, following this little lizard with intense interest.
If you don't already know, jeans on kids? It's the cutest thing ever. I've enjoyed this cold weather break and was pumped to pull out some cutie jeans and warm weather gear. I'd say Miles approves...
These "tiger boots" were hand-me-downs from the girls and he LOVES them
Ready for cold outside play!
Another great hand-me-down. Thanks Lia!
He loved the tiger boots so much, I bought him more. Introducing - bear shoes
We've been teaching Miles baby sign language and we're finally seeing some real progress! We had a few here and there, but now he knows a total of 11 signs!
More - He says "Mo Mo" for more as well. So cute
Rain
Change
Bird - His version is his two fingers pointing at the sky
All Done - He says "Done" when signing too
Book - SO close here. Looks like "More" and then looks at his hands.
Touchdown - He didn't do it for us for our videos but he can Eat - Took a couple tries, but we got TWO signs together. He's never done that before now!
Fish
Milk
Car - His version looks kind of like rain (didn't catch this one on video)
Signs he knows but cannot repeat:
Walk
Outside
Come here
Bath
Water
Ball
(Probably missing a couple here)
Check out his skills in action! Disregard his frequent distraction....SQUIRREL!
We are in the midst of busy season, so I've been slacking on my blog posts. [sorry mom]
BUT, yall are in for a treat because if it doesn't get posted here, it may not make our yearly book in December. Get ready for a photo heavy post :)
Since Miles said his first word, Stephen and I have been talking about getting a real fish tank. A couple weeks ago, we set out for the fish store. A place we knew Miles would LOVE. We were not, and he was not, disappointed.
"Fish fish fish FISH!!"
Stephen's eventual hobby goals
You can see him signing and saying fish as he walks through and looks at everything. So cute :)
Turns out, owning a salt water fish tank is super pricey. So we will save that project for a day in the future. Miles will have to settle for cupcake - our neighbor fish.
He's expanded his skill set lately as well. School has opened his eyes to some new things - dress up, climbing on everything, playing outside (all day, everyday is his preference) and trying to imitate other people.
Halle: "Miles, I'll push you!"
Halle: "Miles, now you push me, Okay?"
He did pretty good considering the size difference!
Ps. He can climb on the table now
...Oh, and the coffee table too...he's so proud!
He loves football! - TOUCHDOWN! -
...and Golf!
And lastly, don't forget the morning "daddy dance" haha!
Miles has been imitating tongue movements lately - look at those eyes lol
Miles has been climbing on the fireplace and the ottoman for awhile now, but this is the first time he's made it up to the couch. He was so proud. Que the up, down, up, down, up, down, etc sequence.
They say when it comes to kids, they either walk or talk first. It's too much for their little brains to handle trying to do both at once. For Miles, he walked. BUT, today, we can officially confirm he has his FIRST WORD.
Stephen and I had thought we'd heard it before, but we weren't quite sure because he wasn't consistent with it. Since starting school, we are sure. FISH. His variation is usually "ish". It sometimes comes out as "shish" and almost always is paired with the sign. To remind you of the sign:
