Miles Lingo

I got it!! Miles saying "school bus". He says "bus" pretty well, but "school" is just some random sound. But it's the SAME sound every time.

I also got him saying Uncle "Todd Todd" - which comes out sounding like "TaTa". haha

Peanut Update!

He's kicking up a storm in there, but doesn't get to make an appearance on the blog too much. This go around, we don't get to see him as much as we did Miles, so we're just truckin on day by day. BUT, we did have a growth scan at the end of February. Stephen wasn't able to make it, so I don't have any videos. But I got some great photos to share.

Profile

Yall, he has hair! And you can SEE it! Those horizontal stripes just under the word "HAIR" is it! I think we are going to have another balding baby come approx 3-4 months. haha

The top of this photo is my belly. At the time of this pic, he was pushing up on me so you can see his foot and ankle pushing at the top

One of the more fun things about these scans is the 3D photos. We have a lot from Miles, so I was excited to compare.

Peanut:

Miles at the same age:

It's hard because these photos are all distorted in areas, but I think think they look alike :)  Can't wait to see him in person!

At the time of this scan, Peanut was measuring approx 14-15 inches long and 3lbs 10oz. Right on track to his age and tracking very similar to Miles. Only time will tell how similar these boys will be. We're getting SO close. Just let me make it through SX.....please......

Much Needed Update

It's SXSW....one of Shorty's busiest times of the year. 5 guys, 10 days, 22 projects. We're half way through and so far, we've survived. Fingers crossed for a smooth second half!

My responsibilities once the installations start calms down a bit, so I'm able to update yall on what's been going on around here. Enjoy!

Loving the HUGE box Peanut's rocking chair came in. We left it out for a good two weeks and he (and the girls) had a ball playing in the "fort"

Hard to see, but Halle is reading to Miles. So cute :)

Lining up his cars AND his fish

One of Miles favorite activities - playing outside. He can't get enough

Working on his spoon/fork skills

We've noticed Miles looooves dipping his food in things. Ketchup being one of his favorites. Take a look at his meticulous dipping skills and his happy bounce after he eats it. haha

Mama loves target. Miles loves popcorn. A pairing meant to be

Monkey hugs
Side story:  Apart from his baby, Miles has not taken a huge interest in stuffed animals. That is until Aunt Becky bought him Mr. Monkey. He's in love

Omi and Miles snuggles!

We ventured for a ride around the block. On and off his bike multiple times, but we made it! only took us 25 minutes.

Miles is really working on his speech. He's talking A LOT and while most of it isn't super understandable, he knows what he wants to say and tries hard to do it. My favorite so far is "school bus" because he makes this weird noise and then says "bus". It's the exact same noise every time for "school" so to him, that's it. I've tried getting it on video, but no wins thus far.

His signs are also evolving!

We had a pretty significant scare earlier this month when Miles was having trouble breathing. This was the first time Stephen and I were really debating whether we take him to urgent care or straight to the ER. Long, LONG story short, we should have just gone to the ER because the urgent care we went to was a load of crap. 2.5 hours in the office, being the ONLY ones there, mixed information, wrong prescriptions written and confused parents = no bueno scenario. We ended up taking him into his Pedi later that day and got much better information. No real diagnosis besides congestion leading to an asthma related breathing incident, so it could have been worse. Miles is now on breathing treatments daily and it seems to be really helping. With Stephen having asthma, it was only a matter of time I guess.

This is us at the doc. He's happily playing with stickers, but you can hear his breathing. This is after 3 breathing treatments. Poor babe

Since it's SX, Stephen has been working longer hours, so Miles and I like to keep him entertained with some fun pics and videos.

Updating dad that Miles still wasn't feeling 100%, but snuggles cure everything

He perked up pretty quick

Stephen's response. HAHA

Totally random, but in the midst of all of this, we found out there is another Stephen Short in Austin. It turns out some samples we ordered for a client got sent to him somehow. So, Stephen met Stephen downtown. And of course, a photo was warranted.

The Stephen Shorts united

...................... Take a breath. This is a long one ............................

So us girls, always talk about how lucky we are to have found some pretty amazing men to share our lives with. Considering the ridiculousness you hear from other people, read in the news, see on social media, etc etc etc, it's humbling to know how lucky we are. And they continue to impress.

As you all know, I have 3 nieces. All in school and ALL attending the daddy daughter dance. In their world, this is a huge deal. There's only one Todd, so Stephen and my Dad stepped in as honorary daddys. Yall, it was SO cute. They brought them corsages, got on their knee and asked each of the girls to the dance on the front porch. So happy Stephen can experience these fun "girly" things seeing as we're having 2 boys.

Stephen took Lia. Dad took Erin and Todd took Halle. They were PUMPED

Another fun activity of the month, our Peanut party! Since we already have pretty much all we need for Peanut from Miles, we didn't want to do a full on shower. If we were having a girl, maybe, but not necessary here. Regardless, we definitely wanted to celebrate the little one.

So, Stephen and I hosted a super chill, fun party for friends and family to come hang out. I'd say it was a big success and definitely fun to see friends we haven't had the chance to see in awhile. Only fail - we totally forgot to get a pic of us with Miles. He was enjoying the fruit dip too much I guess....oops!

Lucy wanted to join in on the fun

Miles tried to make her feel included

Outside play time during the party

hahaaa - oh Whit. This is a goodie

Post party movie and breathing treatment with the gang

That's all I have for now. Peanut update to come shorty so STAY TUNED! You don't want to miss that!
