Muffin Dates

The Gates started this awesome tradition called muffin dates with their girls a long time ago that Stephen and I have decided to adopt. It's basically a date between you and one kid so they have a chance to not only get out of the house, but also have some good one on one time - kid to adult. It helps them feel special, be heard, do something different than the everyday norm and overall just have fun.

Stephen enlisted Todd and the girls to join for their first muffin date.

After Kirby Lane they were planning to go to Costco, but unfortunately it was closed. So, off the Central Market they went. Bob-o was in charge of the cart. I'm not sure he was fully prepared...

Miles came back full of smiles so I'm pretty sure he enjoyed himself.

Miles is a lucky dude because this same week, my mom took him on another muffin date! This time to the pet store. He LOVED looking at the animals :)

My turn!! Miles and I dropped Lucy off at Petsmart to get a bath (much needed) so he said hi to the animals again. Then off to our own adventure. First up? A hair cut - this time, a big boy style. I didn't get any photos of him getting it cut, but rather when we got home, but look how cute!

From there, I found this indoor playground of sorts and thought "What the heck. Lets try it out." If yall haven't noticed. It's HOT. "Indoor" is the key word here. It turned out to be pretty cool and Miles loved exploring all the elements this place had to offer.

The main attraction? This bumpy slide. He spent 95% of his time here.

I'm excited to see this tradition keep going.

GIGGLE!!!

We knew it was close and this morning I GOT A GIGGLE!! The video is black because Stephen had already left to drop Miles off and head to work, but I got the audio.  omg

While things have been a little chaotic since Carson was born with my being sick a lot, Miles seeming to get injured more frequently, Carson just trying to figure things out and Stephen holding down the fort at work, but I think we've been managing pretty well! We're finally at a place where I feel we are getting a groove going. A good place to be :)

The teachers wouldn't let Stephen take pictures during the Father's Day celebration. So, this is all we go. But, Stephen said Donuts with Dads was a hit. Happy Daddy's Day babe!

We kept Miles home from school this day because he wasn't feeling well. What to do to boost his spirits? Cupcakes, of course!

I let him decorate the one he ate and smart boy that he is, he flipped his cupcake upside down and dipped it in the sprinkles icing first. You should have seen his face when he lifted it up and almost ALL the sprinkles stuck to it. So funny

My mom turned her carseat around and Miles was pumped! That smile....melt!

Becky sent this to the group with the perfect caption "Party at the pond!" I've never seen the deer just lounge out there. I think they've enjoyed the work the guys have done.

I wasn't feel well one day so Miles and I were "snuggling" on the couch. His version of snuggling was a little different than mine....

I found our micro machines in the closet and Miles has LOVED these tiny cars. But, they are just that. TINY. He can only play while supervised because these are definitely chokeable. 

Todd & Becky were off to Mexico the next day. So, Aunt Bechy got her some Miles snuggles before they left. HEE HAAWW haha
