15 months

Carson had his 15mo doctor's appointment this past week. I was waiting for Miles to turn 3 hoping I could schedule them together - to then find out Miles isn't due a visit. Oh well...

Doc said Carson is doing great! Here are his stats

Weight:  24lbs 2oz - 63rd percentile
Height:  32in - 64th percentile
Head:  66th percentile

Overall? Pretty well proportioned!

Let's see how Miles compares at the same age:
Weight:  23lbs 15.5oz - 67th percentile
Height:  32in - 77th percentile
Head:  45th percentile

They're SUPER close. It's funny to see how percentages have changed since Miles.

Miles had a LOT more hair than Carson does

Lake House

Quite awhile ago, like January, we planned a lake trip with the Gates. When Covid hit, we were worried we'd have to cancel this trip like all the rest. But, we decided to wait it out and hope it would come to fruition. Thankfully, we were able to go! Becky and Todd got there first and made sure to sanitize everything to keep things safe. We arrived a little later since we had to make a stop at a client's office. No worries - Becky sent us pics of the place and helped plan out where the boys would go so when we got there, it would be a quick setup.

Meanwhile... in our car...

We got there with enough time for Mile's to play in the water for a hot minute before doing bedtime. Once the kids settled down, Becky and I had some wine while the guys fished.

The guys in their own "happy place" - Stephen fishing, Todd swimming

Just in case you couldn't see Todd. ha!

The next day, the kids were ITCHING to get in the water. The adults too for that matter. The water was decently clean and unexpectedly refreshing, so it was really nice. We were in and out all day just enjoying the scenery.

The girls practicing their diving through tubes

Miles perfecting his solo jumping. He did SO great!! Jumped all by himself off the pier which was about 3ft over the water

This house had an amazing setup. Living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs - that's where we stayed. And then they had a big game room with bunk room and another bedroom/bathroom downstairs. That area was awesome for the Gates. Great separation between families so we didn't have any unwanted wakes in the morning. And the yard with dock and awesome swimming area? Yea...it left us with inspiration for our own pipe dream of owning a lake house one day...

We booked this trip with the hope our boat would be ready. But, with Covid and us having to pivot the business to adjust since events got shut down, we just didn't have time to get it buttoned up. Next time though!

So, instead, the guys did some research and found a marina not too far away that rented jet skis. IN! The kids had so much fun, and it filled my adventurous cup for the day. It was great. Becky? Yea... not really her thing. She was out for 5 minutes and had Todd come back in. Was it her losing her nerve? Or the driver? Hm.... we'll never know.

Miles watching us drive off. Becky said that when we left, he seemed so upset he got left behind. Poor little bud! We weren't gone too long :)

Bugs and Miles? 100% He can't get enough

Even Birdie got to swim!! She's still learning and looks like an old lady when wet... hilarious

I'd say this was her preferred place.

On the last night, Becky had a great idea of trying to get silhouette photos of the kids jumping.

Ready? Set!

GO!

Welp... that didn't quite work... We tried MULTIPLE times with the same outcome pretty much everytime haha

But the girls? They aced it! So cool!

The trip was amazing. We cannot wait for the next one! Bye bye lake! We will see you soon!

Three-REX!

RAWRRRR! Dinosaurs - perfect theme for this 3 year old.

We had originally planned his party for the day after his actual birthday, but we got rained out and had to push. A bummer, but we made his actual day super fun as well. Stephen and I planned a brunch for the Gates and my parents to stop by and wish this little dude a happy birthday. We started the morning off with a little singing and balloons "bubbles" in his crib.

The Devlins got this wiggle bike for him and the boys love it!!

It's got a 250lb limit, so the adults got some play time in as well haha

While Chef Stephen was cooking bacon, the kids helped Miles open his gifts.

Gone fishing with his new fishing set!

Miles would have been peachy with just this little celebration, but I love planning parties. If you know me at all, you know I usually go all out for decor and activities. But, because of covid, I tamed it down and planned a more relaxed get-together. Nonetheless, Miles loved it!

The dinos stayed in place just long enough for photos.

We invited our pod people and celebrated Miles' big day in the only way we know how in 110 degree weather.

"Mama!!! Dada!! SLIDE WATER!!!!"

It didn't take long until the dinos were brought into the action

Trick candles for the win!

Thank you to everyone for the gifts, wishes (both virtual and in person) and fun times all around!
