One week old!

One week in the books! We had 9 months to "prepare", but the realization that this little guy is in our world for good is still sinking in. I just can't believe he's finally here!

Some things we've learned over the past week:
- He loves to swing and loves pats on the bum
- He likes his binky but isn't hooked to it
- He makes little squeaks and grunts when he's waking up
- He likes when we run our fingers through his hair when he eats
- TOOTS! Oh my, the toots
- If he had it his way, he'd have his hands in his mouth all day, everyday
- He's not phased by Lucy's loud barks or the doorbell....for now. We hope that stays the case!
- When he's just fallen asleep, he has what we call the "Stephen asleep on the couch" face. Mouth open and head back. ha!
- He's a pretty chill baby and is mostly happy unless he's dirty or hungry

We are wanting to do monthly pictures to show how Miles grows up over the year, so week one will be our jumping off point. My sister helped with her awesome camera skills and I think did a fantastic job capturing this little cutie.

While these weren't quite right for the "official" one week photo, Becky got some other great shots during our photoshoot. Enjoy!

That hair! We had to document the hair

One of my favs - a total framer :)

And one more just to round out the grouping....

Hello World!

He's here! Nearly 40 weeks of wondering what he'd be like, what he'd look like and the excitement of meeting him (and finally spilling the beans on his name), Miles Evan Short came to us on Monday, July 24th weighing in at 7lbs and measuring 20.5in.

With family and friends near and far, we wanted a place to share fun stories and photos of this little nugget. Sit back and enjoy! This is just the beginning :)

5:30am - Getting checked in with fingerprints

Before things really got started

13 hours later....

Footprints!

Miles rockin out with his tiny headphones for his hearing check - passed with flying colors

Dressed and ready to be discharged

He was not thrilled with the car seat, but enjoyed his first car ride

Tired, swollen and ready to be home. But, documented our first family photo none the less :)
