What can I say? This little boy is growing up before our eyes. We went to the doctor this past Friday to learn that he's one healthy, happy kiddo who's on pace with where he needs to be. I'd say he's a keeper :)
Weight: 15 lbs 8.5oz - 65th%
Height: 25" - 56th%
Head: 44th %
He's grown 3" in height and put on 3.5 lbs since his last appointment. Way to go dude!
Baby boys don't accessorize with bows. What they do wear? Shoes....in love! :) |
Some tid bits about Miles at 4 Months:
- His baby hair is falling out and his big boy blonde hair is coming in. Talk about a comb over!
- What hair is left is gradually getting lighter and lighter. Yall are going to have to get used to blonde headed baby come 8 months or so.
- He seems to get overwhelmed and sad at parties or in crowds. We took him to a restaurant for the first time and it seemed like the noise really bothered him. Not a happy camper :( I'm thinking we may need to invest in some noise cancelling ear muffs.
- He kicks his feet when he's excited
- Speaking of feet, his are really clammy. ew...
- He's started to recognize people when he sees them or when he hears them
- Giggling for real!
- Holding things more consistently and seems to grab at things with intention
- Has finally learned that tummy time is a fun time. He's getting really good at holding his head up and has even started to "half roll" from his back to his side.
- Eating an average of 6 oz per meal every 3 hours or so with the occasional 7-8oz. It usually comes out to an average of 30-34 oz per day.
- Waking up just one time a night 98% of the time with the occasional all nighter. YAY
- We're almost on a schedule!
- Wearing 6 mo Carters onesies & pjs, 6-9 mo Carters pants depending on the cut (it seems like they don't make these little pants with enough room for the bum. Maybe he's got a big butt, or maybe it's a construction error. I'll let you be the judge) and 3-6 mo in almost every other brand.
- He loves when we talk about boogers or snuggles. He thinks those topics are pretty funny.
- The miracle blanket has been just that. A miracle. But, he's gotten too tall to tuck is legs in the pocket (and we need a way to strap him in the swing) so he's figured out a way to wiggle his arms out.
- We're transitioning to the crib soon and because of the above, we've invested in what we call the marshmallow suit. It's basically a new style of swaddle that holds their body in a star position so they can still sleep on their back in the crib without potential dangers. We'll see how it works....
- Some new things he's been into: His crunchy book, the ball with holes so he can hold on to it, his rocking chair (now that he's in his room, we can all enjoy it!) and the tv. He seems so interested like he's actually watching. I know it's just the flashing lights but still.
- Thrives on a general routine but seems to manage a change in plans fairly well.
I can't believe this little snuggle bug used to fit completely in this basket. I think the visual growth is finally making an appearance and my "newborn" is now officially a "baby".
Happy 4 Months bud!
