4 Months? No Way!

I know, I know, I'm always late in posting his monthly stats. But hey, I have to make sure we've got a super cute shot since it's showcasing his looks at 4 months.

What can I say? This little boy is growing up before our eyes. We went to the doctor this past Friday to learn that he's one healthy, happy kiddo who's on pace with where he needs to be. I'd say he's a keeper :)

Weight:  15 lbs 8.5oz - 65th%

Height:  25" - 56th%

Head:  44th %

He's grown 3" in height and put on 3.5 lbs since his last appointment. Way to go dude!

Baby boys don't accessorize with bows. What they do wear? Shoes....in love! :)

Some tid bits about Miles at 4 Months:
- His baby hair is falling out and his big boy blonde hair is coming in. Talk about a comb over!
- What hair is left is gradually getting lighter and lighter. Yall are going to have to get used to blonde headed baby come 8 months or so.
- He seems to get overwhelmed and sad at parties or in crowds. We took him to a restaurant for the first time and it seemed like the noise really bothered him. Not a happy camper :(  I'm thinking we may need to invest in some noise cancelling ear muffs.
- He kicks his feet when he's excited
- Speaking of feet, his are really clammy. ew...
- He's started to recognize people when he sees them or when he hears them
- Giggling for real!
- Holding things more consistently and seems to grab at things with intention
- Has finally learned that tummy time is a fun time. He's getting really good at holding his head up and has even started to "half roll" from his back to his side.
- Eating an average of 6 oz per meal every 3 hours or so with the occasional 7-8oz. It usually comes out to an average of 30-34 oz per day.
- Waking up just one time a night 98% of the time with the occasional all nighter. YAY
- We're almost on a schedule!
- Wearing 6 mo Carters onesies & pjs, 6-9 mo Carters pants depending on the cut (it seems like they don't make these little pants with enough room for the bum. Maybe he's got a big butt, or maybe it's a construction error. I'll let you be the judge) and 3-6 mo in almost every other brand.
- He loves when we talk about boogers or snuggles. He thinks those topics are pretty funny.
- The miracle blanket has been just that. A miracle. But, he's gotten too tall to tuck is legs in the pocket (and we need a way to strap him in the swing) so he's figured out a way to wiggle his arms out.
- We're transitioning to the crib soon and because of the above, we've invested in what we call the marshmallow suit. It's basically a new style of swaddle that holds their body in a star position so they can still sleep on their back in the crib without potential dangers. We'll see how it works....
- Some new things he's been into:  His crunchy book, the ball with holes so he can hold on to it, his rocking chair (now that he's in his room, we can all enjoy it!) and the tv. He seems so interested like he's actually watching. I know it's just the flashing lights but still.
- Thrives on a general routine but seems to manage a change in plans fairly well.

I can't believe this little snuggle bug used to fit completely in this basket. I think the visual growth is finally making an appearance and my "newborn" is now officially a "baby".

Happy 4 Months bud!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's turkey day!! With the whole fam in town, we took the opportunity to grab some group photos. It's not often that we see the elusive Michael!

I spent some time trying to find a super cute outfit for Miles that didn't say "baby", but also didn't say "grown man." I wanted a cute mix that spoke more trendy. The idea was there....but Miles is losing his baby hair. That plus the suspenders? Total old man. Sorry bud. You are still adorable in my eyes  :)

Miles was not having picture time. It took a lot to grab a photo where he wasn't screaming. A minute with Michael and what happens? Total happy baby - smiles and all.

Don't believe me?

GIGGLES!

We knew it was in there, but couldn't figure out how to get it out. Then comes the silly aunt Becky and he couldn't take it!

A Day from Miles' Eyes

HI! I'm Miles

I'm pretty cute huh? A lot of you have seen tons of pictures of me, and maybe a video or two, but not everyone has met me yet. Don't worry - I have you covered. Here's the inside scoop of how I like to spend my days and the people/furry creatures I've encountered.

When I wake up in the morning, I'm super happy. Well...as long as I get a bottle because I'm huuuungry after all that sleep.

After I eat, I like to play.

Sometimes I even get to play with my cousins! They are funny.

I'm still really small, so I tire out fast. Nap time!

First nap in my crib! I told you - I'm so tiny!

When I wake up, I'm hungry again. You know - like that silly mouse who always wants cookies!

I'd say my cousins are pretty awesome. They play with me AND feed me. I'm a lucky guy. After I eat, my mom thinks it's a great idea to lay me on my belly. They say I need to work on my head/neck strength so I can start moving on my own. I try really hard...

But sometimes I'm lazy and just like to suck on my hands. Man, they taste so good!

When I get lazy, Mama tries to encourage me to keep working. Omi got me this pretty cool elephant that sings and plays with me! At first, I wasn't sure what to think about it. But after awhile, I found it to be pretty funny.

Whew! That elephant wore me out! Nap time....

If you were really listening, my Dad caught me snoring on camera. So embarrassing! But hey - like father like son.  :D

When I wake up, I eat again (because I'm a hungry dude), and then we like to hang out.

That big black and white furry thing - that's Lucy. She's my dog. She sniffs my face in the mornings to say hello and likes to eat my spit up (Gross!). She seems to be pretty nice, but does bark at me sometimes. It doesn't scare me though. I'm used to it. She's not allowed on my blanket. But she likes to push boundaries and only lay on it a little....and when she thinks no one is looking, she rolls ALL OVER IT. Into the wash it goes. Haha

I also love to talk. I chat with myself or with other people. Either way! I love the sound of my voice!

I have to say...I'm a pretty good baby and rarely cry. But sometimes, I can get grumpy.

My mom and dad are pretty quick to figure out what I need.

After a long day, I love to relax in my bathtub. I splish splash my hands and feet in the water until I'm all clean  :)

Then it's off to bed for the night. Guys....I've almost mastered the once a night feeding! I listen to the waves and the rain forest while I sink into my very own dreamworld.

Well, that's it for me. Until tomorrow!
