Family Photo Op

I wanted to grab photos of our little family of 3 before we were of family of 4 - and before my belly got huge. (I wanted these pics to be focused on the fam and not my belly!) :P

So! Becky was amazing and freed up her Saturday for us to go gallivanting around the Wildflower Center. One piece of valuable information I learned:  Bring a stroller! I had never been and apparently there's a lot of walking at the Wildflower Center. Lugging a toddler around really is a work out!

The last official family photo shoot we did was when Miles was 3 months, so it's time to freshen up the pictures in the hallway. It's hard to get a toddler to do what you want, as I'm sure you can imagine. So, my goals were simple.

1.  Grab a photo of him with his big brother sign:  Check
2.  Manage a half-way decent photo of the 3 of us where we are all looking at the camera. Ideally with everyone smiling:  I think we accomplished that!

Everything else is just icing on the cake! Enjoy!

There were these awesome disc swings hanging from the trees. Stephen's first words "You think those are strong enough to hold me?!?!" haha!

Baby blues are still holding strong!

This series of shots was hilarious. There were sticks everywhere and he wasn't quite sure what to do with them at first

He figured it out pretty quick though!

Eating dirt...ya know. Our future norm I guess!

Peanut!

Stephen and I are excited to officially announce we are adding another little booger (A BOY!) to the fam! We have affectionately given him the belly name:  Peanut.  With all these girls running around - friends, nieces, etc - we are happy that Miles will have another boy to buddy up with. It definitely helps round out the group :)

I'm a little sad Miles won't be our only baby, and I'm worried about how he'll react when the new baby comes, but all families go through this right? So I'm confident we'll make it through. A couple pics to share (we haven't gotten many up until now, unfortunately).

8 Weeks - Feet at top, head at bottom

12 Weeks - He's sucking his thumb :)

I've already started to feel him kick which is fun since it's so early on. I can say, he's a pretty active one already! We have our 20 week ultrasound scheduled where they look through and make sure everything is functioning properly, but so far, everything looks great.

I'd say Miles is completely oblivious at this point. I'm not quite showing yet and we haven't started doing any new baby decorating, so nothing's really changed in his eyes. Come April, it will. It's okay though! We've got you bud. And all the snuggles!

The clouds parted, the angels sang and all the other things that have to happen happened in order to grab this amazing, adorable pic of a toddler who won't stand still and doesn't understand "Ok smile!". I mean come on! In love!

-- Photo credits go to Becky. Thanks SO much! We love how they turned out! --

Stay tuned for a full fledged family photo post!

Combobulation

It's time for an overall update! Take a look into a crazy little world :)

The girls are occupied and Miles is just hamming up the camera. ha!

Hi friend! So sweet

The cheerio trough

I'm loving this. Miles is chowing down while Lizzie and Charlie are fighting over the empty snack cup

Miles:  "Ladies, I'm staying out of this one..."

Happy Birthday Lizzie & Charlie!!

Miles taking a walk to join to party - had to stop to say hi to the cat, of course.

Prepping for Flagstaff!

CHEESE!!

Mid belly laughs. So cute :)

Stephen was out of town for a full week. He had bad cell service so chats in the morning weren't as doable this time around. So Miles and I tried to get a few cutie morning pictures to share with Dad!

This one is my current favorite of him

Miles has been loving playing outside! In between the weird weather we've been having, our flagstone patio is one of his favorite spots

Look closely - our praying mantis friend (on the screen) was with us for over a week! Miles would go look for him every morning when I opened the blinds. Unfortunately, no sign of him anymore.

Breathing treatment for our sickly little boy. He looks so pitiful. Feeling much better now, thank goodness!

LOVE this!

Bye bye guys!

Adventure is Out There!

Happy Halloween! (A few days late)

This year Stephen and I thought long and hard about what we wanted Miles to be for Halloween. We found out the Gates fam were going to be super heros and the Devlins down the street were going to go as the cast from Grease. Charlie:  Sassy Sandy and Lizzie:  Classy Sandy haha!! So, we knew we had to join the party and do a group costume.

What we decided on?  UP - The pixar movie. Miles would represent Russel, the little boy. Stephen would be the old man. And I would be Kevin - the bird. Because as we found out in the film, Kevin's a girl! Check out our getup!

For comparison purposes, how'd we do?

Miles was so cute with his little costume. He wasn't quite sure what to think of it. He hadn't been feeling the best that day, so we didn't get a ton of smiles. But dang, is he cute :)

Sorry - A little blurry. He was on the move

Our yearly group shot!

Miles pre Halloween trying to rally. Stuffed nose, alligator tears, animal crackers & water.

Even though the weather was terrible (super rainy and just overall gross), we did manage to get out to a couple houses to trick or treat. Miles had absolutely no idea what we were doing, but enjoyed chewing on the fully wrapped candy. He'd never had candy before, so I let him have one M&M and all we got for the rest of the night was more, more, more, more, more. ha!

I'd say the overall experience would have been so much more fun without the rain, but we made the best of it!
