We hadn't been hiking in forever because it's "Texas Winter" (ie: SO hot you don't go outside). But the rain has brought cooler weather which has been so refreshing! So, one day on our normal morning walks, I decided to spice it up a bit and take the kids through the trails in the back. I had no idea what to expect - mud, overgrowth of plants, snakes, etc but thought hey - we can always turn around.
After making our way through some super tall weeds, up and across a not-so-friendly-to-strollers bridge and on to the main trail, it was actually really nice! I got the kids out of the stroller knowing they'd take forrevveeerrr to make it through, distracted about each and every little item *SQUIRREL!* (literally...), but I didn't care. They had a total blast.
