I can't believe Miles is already in Kinder. Seems so crazy to me! This is a special year because it's the last year with Lia at the same school. Miles has been so excited to go to the big school with his cousins.
We started the excitement off with meet the teacher. He got to see the school, walk the halls and most importantly, see his classroom and teacher.
As the first day of school approached, emotions were all over the place - from everyone. Excitement, curiosity, nervousness, anticipation - the works. Carson was a trooper because he had to wait a whole week before his school started. I was glad he could join in on the fun sending off his big brother at his new school.
This was probably one of the hardest days I've had. I just wanted to know if he was doing alright and if he had a good day. Thankfully, Miles' teacher is so amazing at updating their classroom Facebook with photos and tid bits from the day. Here are some from the first day.
Miles walking out with Lia - the girls has been so essential in Miles feeling comfortable and confident at his new big kid school.
More photos from the first couple weeks of school:
Meanwhile, Carson and I were at home. He was so confused and sad the first day because his playmate was gone. He just wanted Miles to come home. But after that, he realized he had all the toys to himself and could do whatever he wanted. From then on out, the days were pretty quiet.
Carson's turn! First day of school!!
Carson's school also has an app where they update with pictures and whatnot. Here is what Carson was up to the first couple weeks of school:
"Yook!! A furry capitiller!"
Carson doing his "All about me" bag. He put all the things he loves in a bag and presented it to his class. Of course, lizards.
The boys have been loving school. They've both been doing so well. Learning new things. Getting comfortable with new surroundings. It's funny how they always surprise us in how well they do with these things. Big transition, but they've handled it in stride! I guess we need to start giving them more credit.... Ha!
He was very clear in what he wanted for his party. Lizards. So, Lizards he shall have. (not real ones...)
Lizard tree!
Carson and his thumbs up. ha! So cute
All kids love gifts. But this kid. His expressions were priceless!
After the party, we had some work to do as Miles wanted to build ALL the legos he got from his birthday.
It was a busy couple of days! Miles has gotten so good at legos since his bday. He can read the instructions and build things on his own now. He's been taking everything apart and building it back again over and over. So cool to watch.
Cason enjoyed playing with the legos. But his highlight was the deconstruction of the lizard tree. "Yook Mama! It a FOREST!"
Happy Birthday sweet boy. We can't believe you are already FIVE
