Galveston Trip

We headed out with the Gates over Labor Day to visit Galveston. It was only the 2nd time the boys have been to the beach and never with their cousins, so they were excited.

Our first water view!

By the time everyone got there, it was already dusk. But, check out that moon and water reflection. Pretty

View From our Balcony

Birdie was 1. IN HEAVEN and 2. Part afraid of what kept touching her in the water. She'd pounce like something bit her haha

Cousins!

annnddd... 2 seconds later. Poor Carson

Erin was getting really good at this skim board

We were expecting a little more here, more eventful - but the music and bouncing Birdie just made the video that much better lol!

Introducing the cover of Family Summer Magazine. Adorable

The kites were a super fun add to the beach day. The girls got them SO high up in the air you could barely see them

We may have lost Gladys (the huge Unicorn float) at the lake. But, I made sure to bring her counterpart to the beach. Birdie may, or may not, have been happy about that.

Nighttime shenanigans and I have no idea what's happening here. Birdie and Stephen look guilty

Erin spent each morning working on this huge ferris wheel project. By the end, it was done and looked so awesome!

Love!

Trying to get a cute cousin shot and then there's Carson.

anndd... Carson again. ha!

The 2nd day, we visited the condo club pools. First pool was one with a lazy river - super cool! It wasn't very crowded so we had a good chunk to ourselves. Our plan was to go to the second, larger pool and eat dinner at their club restaurant. But, our plans waffled when we got there and the pool was littered with people and the restaurant was closed due to flooding. SO - we headed back to the house to make our own fun.

Playing: Try to get the kitties to the 3rd floor from the ground / throw them at Lia and Miles' heads from the 3rd floor game. So random but pretty funny.

The last day we spend in Galveston proper. We went to the aquarium and the Rainforest Cafe. Both of which the boys had never been too. We didn't take many photos this day but the kids had a blast. They saw sharks and got to pet sting rays! At the Rainforest Cafe, we rode this swamp ride that takes you through a "real" rainforest with "real" animals. One for the memories for sure.

Awesome trip. Awesome people. It was great to see how much the boys have grown up and can handle trips to places like the aquarium and restaurants while acting like normal humans. Keep in mind, Carson was essentially a Covid baby, so these outings are so far fetched for him and Miles. Pretty fun to experience those things and watch it through their eyes :)

2023 Life In between

Between camping festivities, baseball and vacation, some photos fell between the cracks. Enjoy a mash up of 2023!

School field trip

Decisions may have been made after some glasses of wine. But! It proved to offer a fun afternoon of entertainment.

The girls were getting really good!

Baby Laralie!

Pete the Cat got to come home from school

Omg precious

Miles and Carson have been creating houses, tents and sky scrapers for their cats to live in. Pretty cool creations. Bridges, sidewalks, the works.

The girls put together this whole spa afternoon one Saturday night. I must say - it was pretty legit. *Not pictured: The bathroom foot scrub and hair station*
